EMDR

Catherine, a KAP therapist in California. A woman with shoulder-length red hair, wearing a black long-sleeve top and blue jeans, sitting cross-legged in a gray armchair against a plain white wall.

EMDR

I then spent a decade running a business in another helping profession and finally regathered the courage to step back onto the path to become a therapist. My only regret is not doing it sooner.

A wooden desk with an open notebook, a black marker, a laptop showing a social media page, a white mug, a glass flower vase with pink lilies and white small flowers, and other small items.

Trauma

During my training years I worked at a variety of organizations that gave me unique perspectives and allowed me to serve people from diverse communities. My training included time at the UCSF Epilepsy Center, Liberation Institute, several Bay Area middle and high schools, Adolescent Counseling Services, and an outpatient group practice which specialized in EFT for couples.

As my career has progressed, I have continued to seek intensive specialized training completing courses in perinatal mental health, EMDR, childhood emotional neglect, play therapy, Internal Family Systems, ketamine-assisted psychotherapy and I am also a graduate of the esteemed 15-month UC Davis / Napa Parent Infant Mental Health Institute Fellowship.
